Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Achievements on PC are in Limbo

How Will I Know If I Beat the Game?

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is out and AC fans are loving it. It has everything you expect from an Assassin’s Creed game, plus Viking rap battles, drinking, raids, fishing, and a giant wolf mount. On PC however, the one thing it is missing is its achievement list, regardless of whether you bought it on UPlay+, the Ubisoft Store, or the Epic Games Store. Players have been wondering what’s up with that and to make matters worse, there has been a major miscommunication between Ubisoft Support and the community.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Achievements

On the Ubisoft forums, fans have been up in arms about the missing achievements. There is just no achievement list. As an achievements guy on Xbox, I can sympathize. A Ubisoft Support member responded, but not only did the message have misleading typos, but it also just flat out contained misinformation. “Hey guys, Apologies for some of the misinformation I provided earlier in the thread, this was due to a miscommunication. Achievements are not not available for this title on PC, and this is an intended change. Instead of Achievements for new games on Ubisoft Connect, instead we have expanded the Challenges, which provide XP and other rewards in Ubisoft Connect. We know that this is a big change for a lot of you, and we appreciate your understanding in the matter“.

That was the original message. Aside from saying “achievements are not not available”, it was also incorrect that it was “an intended change.” Yesterday, the post was corrected: “We are aware that achievements are not available for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players on PC – this was unintended. We are actively working to enable achievements and will keep you updated when more information is available.” So, to be clear: the achievements missing is a mistake. Ubisoft is working on bringing them online. The next question is, will the progress already made in the game unlock the achievements when they go live? Good question, Zane. Hopefully, it all works out for the PC players. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is available now for PC, Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PS4, and PS5. You can also check out our review here.
