ZeniMax Online Hiring for New AAA Game
ZeniMax Online has officially confirmed that it’s working on a new AAA IP that’s currently in pre-production. The project will be the first new game the studio has worked on since The Elder Scrolls Online launched back in 2014, most recently bringing Skyrim to the MMO with Greymoor. The listed positions ZeniMax Online is hiring for include character artists, gameplay camera designers, and other roles from the art, engineering, design, and programming departments. The Elder Scrolls Online is available right now for Xbox One, PS4, Google Stadia, and PC, with next-gen versions expected later this year.
The official Xbox News Twitter account recently said, “confirmed: Xbox first-party studio Zenimax Online, developer of The Elder Scrolls Online, is working on a brand new AAA IP, built on a brand new game engine. The title has been in development since at least 2018.” In response to the Xbox News tweet, ZeniMax Online Lead Graphics Engineer, Alex Tardif claimed, “not much to say about this yet, but it’s been so much fun creating a brand new engine. With how rare this kind of thing is nowadays, I feel fortunate to be at this studio while we invest heavily in our own technology.”
ZeniMax Media was recently acquired by Microsoft and it looks like ZeniMax Online is already hard at work on their next project. While we’re fans of The Elder Scrolls Online, we’re looking forward to seeing what else the developers have cooking for us in pre-production. Considering how many people the developers are looking to hire, the title is apparently in very early phases of development. It’ll be interesting to see just how hands-on Microsoft is with ZeniMax Online with this upcoming AAA title in pre-production considering the timing of the announcement so closely following the Microsoft acquisition.
