Hands-on Previews of PS5 Suggest a Quiet Console
The first impressions of the PS5 have started coming out of Japan, and the next-gen console apparently runs very quietly. According to some fans who have gone hands-on with the PS5, even under hot circumstances and prolonged gaming sessions, the PS5 remained quiet while dissipating heat generated by the internal components. Fans of the PS4 may be familiar with the PS4 Pro getting very loud the longer you play it, but this apparently won’t be an issue with the PS5. The PS5 and PS5 Digital Edition release on November 12th.
The PlayStation 5 recently got a detailed teardown, but hands-on impressions indicate that the next-gen console will run very quietly as well. According to Japanese publication 4gamer, the PS5 emits some heat, but the console is barely audible. The AV Watch Japanese publication also claims that the next-gen PlayStation console runs very quietly while it runs. While we haven’t gone hands-on with the PS5 yet, the next-gen is getting quite complimented in its home market of Japan. The Xbox Series X doesn’t run loudly either, but it’ll be nice to have both to compare side-by-side.
“What was shocking to me this time was how quiet the fan was,” said Dengeki Online. “There must have been many people who were curious about this. It was so quiet!” PS4 Pro owners are no strangers to loud consoles that get warm, but apparently, that won’t be an issue with the PS5. Considering how many Japanese gamers are claiming how quiet the PS5 is, it seems like next-gen console gamers can look forward to a gaming experience that doesn’t include the noise of a running fan.
