Apex Legends Nintendo Switch Release Delayed into 2021

Got Played Like a Switch

EA’s free-to-play baby Apex Legends is having a run of success on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It will soon be available on Steam, which players can get exclusive cosmetics from. EA had plans to release bring Apex Legends to Steam and Nintendo Switch around the same time, but something came up where they were forced to delay the Nintendo Switch release. That’s bad news bears for Switch owners because their Apex Legends won’t becoming out until next year, unfortunately. Let’s throw Nintendo fans a bone; get them some exclusive cosmetics like Steam users. Whaddaya say?

Apex Legends Delayed

We’re focusing on the bad news here, but the game’s delay on the Switch is actually part of a good news/bad news announcement. The good news is that Apex Legends will be coming to Steam on November 4th. It will be launching alongside Season 7. Origin users will be able to jump onto Steam with all their progression coming with them, plus get the Steam exclusive cosmetics. Crossplay between platforms entered beta earlier this month and hopefully by the time the Nintendo Switch version comes out, all the bugs will be squashed and everything will be fine tuned.

We have yet to hear about an official rescheduled release date for Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch, but hopefully it won’t be too long after the new year. EA did reassure fans that when it does come out, it will be tricked out with all the features of its counterparts on PC, Xbox One, and PS4 such as crossplay and latest seasonal content. Apex Legends is available now for PC, Xbox One, and PS4, and will be available on Nintendo Switch in early 2021 (fingers crossed).
