Madden NFL 21 Getting Metacritic Review Bombed

Madden NFL 21 Is One of the Lowest Rated Games on Metacritic

EA’s latest Madden NFL title recently released to lukewarm critic reviews, and devastatingly low user reviews. The PC version of Madden NFL 21 currently has a user score of 0.6, with the PS4 version reaching a devastatingly low score of 0.3, and the Xbox One version at a slightly higher user review score of 0.5. All of these scores are on a scale of one to ten, and whether it’s deserved or not, NFL fans are voicing their displeasure of the latest Madden NFL title. Madden NFL 21 is available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia right now, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions releasing later this year.

Most of the Metacritic review score complaints of Madden NFL 21 focus on bugs, glitches, and the always valid frustration over minor differences between this year’s Madden NFL title and last year’s. One fan spliced together Super Bowl celebration footage from the last four iterations of Madden NFL and it’s hard not to see the similarities between all of them. Considering COVID-19 may have impacted the development of Madden NFL 21, it seems like EA should have just delayed the latest installment in the series. Many Madden NFL titles have focused on Madden Ultimate Tournament mode, but Madden NFL 21 apparently focuses even more heavily on the monetized game mode. Gamers have said they want more updates to franchise mode and the “neglected simulation side” of Madden NFL, but it seems like their voices remain unheard by EA Sports. Madden NFL 21 feels to many of the critics and users alike like an update to Madden NFL 20 than a game that warrants an entirely new release.
