Sonic Double-Pack Coming Out on Nintendo Switch For Some Reason

It’s All About Speed

I get making a Sonic the Hedgehog movie to piggyback off of the success of the games, but it would be a pretty bold and assuming move if Sega was to try to piggyback off of the movie with this Sonic Double-Pack. Apparently, Nintendo and Sega will be releasing a double-pack of Sonic games in October. It contains Sonic Mania and Team Sonic Racing, both of which have been released over the past few years. Since they were both released for multiple platforms, it is unclear if this double-pack will be a Switch exclusive.

Sonic Double-Pack

Sonic Mania is a bit of a throwback/remix of classic Sonic games. Though it is its own game, it borrows gameplay elements from Sonic 1, 2, 3, and Sonic & Knuckles. Following the release of Sonic Mania, Sonic Mania Plus was released with two new playable characters and an Encore Mode. It is unclear if this double-pack will be released with the base game or the Plus version. Team Sonic Racing is a racing successor to Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. This time they just entirely dropped the Sega family that was not Sonic, because let’s be honest, there really aren’t any other Sega All-Stars.

Both of these games are already out on Nintendo Switch, so if you are a die hard Sonic fan, you might already have them both. There was also a similar Sonic Double-Pack including Sonic Mania Plus and Sonic Forces released for multiple platforms, but we will just have to wait and see what the case is with this one. This Sonic Double-Pack is expected to release on October 26th for Nintendo Switch.
