Now Make the Alternate Costumes
I’ve talked before about the perfect storm in today’s world that has led to the overwhelming success of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Even Nintendo underestimated how popular it would be. It should go without saying that players all over the world have poured hours and hours into their games since it launched. Most do it just for creativity’s sake, others do it to promote their business, and some people do it to test the limits of the game. Redditor DJ-Dez spent over 400 hours making costumes for every character in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Using in-game items and clothing options, DJ-Dez outfitted his Animal Crossing villager to look like each Smash Ultimate character. He uses hats, dresses, shirts, and helmets in very creative ways. The player design tools for customizing clothing really came in handy for this project. The characters like Fox, Bowser, or King K. Rule that have non-human faces use hats and helmets to design faces on and then tilts their heads forward to show them off. There are 80 different costumes made by DJ-Dez, some of which are alternate forms of a character like Dark Samus, Chrom, and Lucina.
The Isabelle is also really great. How did he do that within Animal Crossing? What a legend.
