Rockstar Don’t Play
Where there are online games, there will be cheaters. There are people who will do anything to get an edge over others, or over the game itself. And when naughty children are naughty, mama grabs her slipper [Slippers were often used to strike a child’s behind as punishment]. In this case, Rockstar Games is mama, and GTA Online cheaters are naughty children. GTA Online’s casino opened recently and players have since found an exploited coined (no pun intended) the Casino Chip Glitch. This prompted the developer to lay down a Rockstar-sized punishment on the offenders.
According to the Twitter user Tez2, someone who often has their finger on the pulse of GTA Online, Rockstar Games has cracked down hard on players who use the Casino Chip Glitch. Tez2 has received reports of GTA Online accounts being wiped entirely. Past punishments have included a permanent dunce cap placed upon a player’s head, and in the cases of currency glitches, money wipes. However, what Rockstar has begun to do this time is much harsher. A total account wipe means that the player loses all their money, all their inventory, all purchases, and all their levels. You basically have to create a new character.
Rockstar is in process of resetting #GTAOnline characters, progress and inventory of all the players who have done the casino chip glitch aka the latest money glitch.
Not a money wipe, a complete reset.— Tez2 (@TezFunz2) May 9, 2020
Not every offender has received a total account wipe. Some have just had regular money wipes. Of course, there are those who think that account wipes are too harsh; that without exploits players will have to grind for cash the regular way, and that just takes too long. But you can guess what side of the cheating line they fall on. Grand Theft Auto V is available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
