Happy Star Wars Day
What a conveniently timed announcement. Earlier today, Respawn Entertainment unveiled a new Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order update. This update mainly focuses on combat challenges and replayability. The big addition is the Meditation Training, which is divided into the Combat Challenges and the Battle Grid. The Combat Challenges sets Cal in different parts of the galaxy, fighting arenas of enemies. Each challenge has three stages of completion; defeat the enemies, defeat the enemies without healing, and defeat the enemies without taking damage. There are 12 challenges and each stage of completion gives you one star toward the challenge. Earn 12 stars and you unlock 3 new BD-1 cosmetics.
The Battle Grid allows you to create your own fights to challenge yourself with. You can choose the setting, number of enemies, which enemies, battle modifiers, and one of four general difficulties. In the Battle Grid, you can also choose enemies that you could not previously fight, such as enemies from Cal’s dark vision; Master Jaro Tapal and his dark self, Inquisitor Cal Kestis. You may share screenshots and videos of your Battle Grid, so that others may try to replicate your battle, but it is unclear why there is not just a share option.
Respawn is also adding New Journey +, which allows you to access Meditation Training. It also lets you keep all of your abilities, collectibles, and cosmetics, including all your outfits and kyber crystals. During New Journey +, Cal can wear any of his outfits regardless of what part of the game he is in. This update also unlocks the Inquisitor Cal Kestis outfit and red kyber crystals for the iconic red lightsaber. This update is available now for all players for free. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is available for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
