Oh, Captain, My Captain
Season 3 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is winding down, so it is only natural that players look to the horizon for what is to come in Season 4. Though no date for the season has been specified, we are being teased with the possibility of a new, yet familiar, and fan-favourite operator. One of the most recognizable characters in the entire franchise Captain Price is being hinted as the Modern Warfare Season 4 playable operator. So far, there have been a couple of teases pointing toward that mutton-chop mustache, bucket hat-wearing man.
A couple of days ago, the Call of Duty YouTube channel released a video of call between Al-Asad and Victor Zakhaev, who are some pretty big villains in Call of Duty. The call is being monitored by Armistice SIGINT. Al-Asad tells Zakhaev that, “They’re enlisting the help of a senior operative. I have only one picture of this man, but the quality is poor.” Lo and behold, the picture is of a man with a bucket hat obscuring his face. Al-Asad also calls him “an old friend” in the ironic way and that he will be a big problem.
Captain Price would not be the first character from the Modern Warfare games to make an appearance as a playable operator for Modern Warfare. In Season 2, Ghost was made playable, though his introduction was soured by leaks. It seems this time, Activision is on top of huge leaks like they faced in the past. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
