Mixer Partners Will Receive $100 During the COVID-19 Crisis

Thanks For the Donation

People are doing their best to stay at home these days. A lot of people are out of work and everyone else is trying to find a way to work from home. For streamers, this what they do normally; not much changes, but it can still affect them when most of the income comes in donations. Microsoft has decided to help out Mixer partners with a gift of $100. It may seem like not very much to Mixer streamers like Ninja, who gets $100 every time he clicks his mouse, but it means more to the smaller streamers.

Mixer Partners

Not every streamer is Dr. Disrespect or Ninja. Streaming is like being a musician; for every huge star, there are a thousand people who work a regular job to support their dream, not to mention all the non-partnered streamers. With a lot of those people not being able to work, $100 might go a long way. Though some partners like Exellion and Lindsywood are passing on their gift to smaller streamers who might need it more.

Mixer has thousands of partners, like Twitch, so this would amount to hundreds of thousands of dollars going out to streamers. However, as a subsidiary of Microsoft, could they be doing more than $100? Perhaps, but even pushing to $200 would double this amount across the board. Microsoft has a lot of employees in other parts of their empire, who they may be finding ways of taking care of. Meanwhile, no word of Twitch doing something like this. Being owned by Amazon, it would also be very unlikely.

What do you think? Is this a big enough gesture? Let us know in the comments below.
