Daymare 1998 Getting a Console Release in a Few Days

Resident Evil 2 Remake 2

Daymare 1998 has an interesting story of development. It began as a fan remake of Resident Evil 2, but a month or so after it was announced, Capcom announced an official Resident Evil 2 Remake. Daymare then deviated to become its own thing. Like the Resident Evil 2 Remake, Daymare came out in 2019 on PC with pretty positive reception. Yesterday, a trailer for the console release was uploaded. Good thing for console fans, they will not have to wait very long for this Resident Evil tribute.

Daymare 1988

If you have not yet seen gameplay of Daymare, you will be struck with how similar it looks to Resident Evil 2 Remake. Had Capcom not done their remake, Daymare 1998 would certainly be a viable replacement. Even if you have played the Resident Evil remakes, Daymare might still be worth checking out. The design of the enemies, the look of the puzzles, and the overall vibe of the game really hits the nail on the head in terms of replicating Resident Evil.

Along with the console release, Daymare 1998 will have a Black Edition which comes with the base game, a few stickers, and what appears to be character art. All of it comes in a collector’s box. The advertisement is for PS4, but Xbox One owners will also likely have the option to get the Black Edition. Daymare 1988 is out now on PC and will launch on PS4 and Xbox One on April 28th.
