Showing Off Character Creation and Much More
Two new Japanese trailers for Nioh 2 were released the other day giving us many more glimpses into the game. Being developed by Team Ninja, Nioh a souls-like set in a historical fantasy version of 1600s Japan. Combining historical figures, battles, mythical being and magic, the first was received incredibly well by fans and critics alike. The second title is meant to be the prequel to the story of the first game.
The commercials were made for Japanese television and run the standard length of thirty seconds each. The first trailer is the standard epic story trailer showing off much of the cut scenes and characters that will be featured in the game. Unfortunately, unless you know Japanese quite well, I’m afraid it’s going to be hard to understand what’s going on.
However, the second commercial is much more interesting. Showing off many of the new power-up transformations and a wide array of character creation options available within the game. One of the only things that people didn’t like about Nioh was that you had to play as William, a western samurai in Japan. Although not a critical component of souls-likes, it’s a component of many of the genre people have come to expect. Check out bout of the trailers below.
What do you think of these new trailers for Nioh 2? I’m especially jazzed after looking at some of the gameplay stuff from the second one. The game is set for release on March 13th.
