Final Fantasy 7 Remake Delays Won’t Hurt Part 2
After the delays of the first part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake, many fans have worried that part 2 would be delayed too but that won’t be the case according to Square Enix. Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda addressed the speculation during a recent financial briefing when he was asked if the second part would be delayed, saying it wouldn’t. Apparently the following parts won’t take as long to develop because of the foundation set by the first part. Part one of the Final Fantasy 7 Remake releases exclusively for PS4 on April 10th and there’s a demo on the PS Store now.
Enthusiastic Final Fantasy fans who have already devoured the demo of Final Fantasy 7 Remake have little to worry about considering what Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda said during the recent financial earnings briefing. When asked during the briefing if the initial delays would affect the ETA for Final Fantasy 7 Part 2, Matsuda said bluntly, “No, it will not.” Before this statement, it would be fair for fans to worry about another delay but these worries should be put to rest now that the company has made an official statement on the matter.
With Square Enix being among the developers scaling back on gaming events such as PAX East, it’s possible that the demo drop is an attempt to give back to disappointed fans. Coronavirus is keeping developers from attending such events and we hope it doesn’t lead to delays in game or hardware releases for games like Final Fantasy Remake part 2. “Due to the work already done on the first game we anticipate development of the second game to be more efficient,” said game producer Yoshinori Kitase during a recent event.
