A Demand For Quality Controllers
It’s been three months since the release of the Xbox Elite Series 2 controller, and by the looks of it, it’s doing quite well. When Microsoft announced the controller, many were skeptical about its success due to the hefty $230 CAD price tag. The controller itself costs more than half of the console itself, who would buy that? Apparently, many people.
The demand for hardcore gamers meant a demand for high-quality controllers. The customizability, responsiveness, wired/wireless capability, and its durability made it an attractive choice for active gamers. Add to that its ability to be used as a great controller for PC gamers broadened the market even further, especially considering that the PC market is more willing to shell out big bucks for quality.
It is reported that the Xbox Elite Series 2 topped January’s charts for the best-selling gaming accessory and the trend is going strong. Not only, that it has placed itself on the 5th place for the best selling controller in its first three months, a very impressive feat when you think about the price point of the controller. This probably points to the growing number of gamers that play games competitively and/or often.
Our very own Trevor Houston reviewed the controller and gave it a wonderful score of 95, calling it “simply the best”. If you are interested in the controller, I’d recommend checking out his review. I personally don’t own an Xbox, but I bought one for myself as I play a lot of action/fighting games on the PC. I found myself replacing my controllers every year due to broken bumpers or tilted thumbsticks, so the investment made sense. So far, I have been enjoying it very much as well. If you have been considering getting a quality controller, this might be the one you’ve been looking for.
