Pitter-Pata
With so many new games getting hit with delays that almost seem viral, it’s refreshing to get news of a surprise game release, especially one from a beloved franchise. Earlier today, PlayStation revealed, announced, and dated the release of Patapon 2 Remastered. The Patapon series came out on the PSP between 2007 and 2011, and now the second game has been remastered for the PS4. The first game was remastered and ported to the PS4 a few years ago, so if enough fans are excited and pick this up, Patapon 3 might also get the remastered treatment.
For those who weren’t quite taken by the idea of portable consoles back in the 2000s, the Patapon series is a set of rhythm games. Following timed button prompts, the player leads their group of warriors through different levels, defeating many enemies. Despite the concept of leading a great conquest, the Patapon games are super cute and light-hearted, which comes through in the music and art style. You can check out exactly what you are in for in the trailer that was released today.
A few years ago, when the first Patapon game was getting remastered, its release date also followed the trailer soon afterward, but this time, Patapon 2 Remastered is coming out in just three days! 2009’s Patapon 2 will be available on PS4 and PS4 Pro before the end of the month, on January 30th.
