Overcooked 2 Spring Festival Celebrates the Year of the Rat

Ratatouille Did It First!

Earlier this week, developer Team17 was teasing some new Overcooked 2 content. Whether it was an additional season pass or not was a mystery, until today. It turns out, fans will be getting some free Overcooked 2 Spring Festival DLC in celebration of the Chinese New Year. This it will be the Year of the Rat, you will of course get to play as a rat. And a turtle, for some reason. This free content update was revealed and launched earlier today. Unfortunately, the Xbox One version of the update will be delayed due to technical difficulties.

Overcooked 2 Spring Festival

This update adds new dishes of fruit platters and soups cooked in giant woks that have to be dragged on and off heat sources. There will also be five new kitchens. While cooking, paper dragons fly through the kitchen, so players are advised to keep out of its way. You can check out the trailer for the Spring Festival content below.

This time last year, Team17 also released a Chinese New Year update for Overcooked 2 for free. In hindsight, the mystery content tease should have been easier to decipher. Overcooked 2 is out now on PC, Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. You can play the Spring Festival content right now, unless you are an Xbox One owner, then just hang in there!
