What Even Was This
FPS games have a strange history. If you roll back to any given time period, you’ll inevitably find some weird gems buried in the muck. Speaking of the muck, Kingpin: Life of Crime is getting remastered for modern consoles and PCs! While its surely a perfectly lovely title, the screenshots are quite… telling.
On top of all that, the game is apparently ceaselessly crude and vulgar. This isn’t a knock against it, more of a testament to the times. Either way, I missed this one back in the day, so the nostalgic shine is absent for me. 3D Realms is dragging this game up from the wreckage of the recent past, dusting it off, and getting it ready for a new audience.
You can check out the reveal trailer below for a better look at what’s to come. Just a boatload of F-bombs, for starters. Which again, is totally fine! No matter what archaic trappings Kingpin is draped in, the game is still coming from some of the masters of the genre. Also Xatrix, a company best known for Cyberia and the Redneck Rampage series. Kingpin: Reloaded is coming to PC and consoles sometime later this year.
