The Bad Seed Brings Good Things to Dead Cells
Indie publisher Digerati has announced that Dead Cells is receiving its first paid DLC, The Bad Seed, next month. The new content is set to drop on February 11 for all platforms. The DLC will cost $4.99 USD.
Dead Cells launched in Early Access on Steam in 2017. The game has received 16 free updates, including content additions and overhauls, since launch.
The Bad Seed will add two new biomes for players to explore, as well as a collection of new weapons and enemies. The DLC is set up so that players of any level will be able to enjoy the new content immediately.
The two new areas include the Arbortoreum, described as “a lush paradise to deceivingly adorable creatures,” and The Swamp. “where an overgrown arboreal settlement inhabited by ambushing blow gunners and spear wielders is your only escape from the gargantuan purple ticks that reign uncontested on the ground.” Rewards for conquering these environments include a unique armoury, a new double slotted weapon, and some kind of living mushroom companion.
This DLC expansion is not expected to be the last, according to developer Evil Empire.
“There are still a butt-load of things we’re planning to add to the game,” said Joan Blachere, creative director at Evil Empire.
Dead Cells is available on PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.
