Star Citizen Has Passed a New Crowd Funding Milestone

$230 Million Dollars and Counting

Star Citizen is a game that has been under development for what seems like forever. The game was first announced in 2012 and has slowly inched along thanks to the dedicated support of many die-hard fans. Star Citizen has been lucky enough to be on the receiving end of one of the most successful crowdfunding operations in history. While some fan’s enthusiasm has tapered off as the game still does not have a clear release date, others are just as passionate as ever.

Star Citizen Passes 150 Million Dollar Crowdfunding Milestone

Star Citizen has managed to amass over $230 million dollars over the past seven years. Within the past month, the game has received a sudden spike of support. For some inexplicable reason, the people behind Star Citizen were given nine million dollars in November alone.

This spike in sales could be attributed to a massive event that was held in Manchester only a few months ago. This event gave the opportunity for die-hard fans to come out and show their support. The developers also revealed new features and additions to the game. The conference must have been pretty jaw-dropping to get that much money out of people afterward.

While some people might be skeptical about Star Citizen, it is clear that there are many who are still very confident in the title. As the year comes to a close, there is still no sight of when we should be expecting to see the release of the ambitious project. There is no denying that the game looks very good in what has been shown off so far, but there is always a chance that nothing will ever end up coming to fruition.

When Star Citizen does launch, it will be a PC exclusive.
