The Mortal Kombat Movie Will Be Released Sooner Than Expected

Mortal Kombat Will Hit the Big Screen in Early 2021

The Mortal Kombat movie has caused fans a mix of emotions. Some are terrified that any studio would have the gall to try and resurrect a movie franchise that is widely seen as some of the worst films ever made. Whereas others are hopeful that this time they will be able to pull it off. Whatever your position is all of these questions are going to be answered a little bit sooner than planned. The release date of the Mortal Kombat movie has been pushed forward.

Mortal Kombat 11 Halloween Skins

Originally scheduled to be dropping on March 5th of 2021, the new date is now January 15th, 2021. The reasoning for this change has come straight from Warner Bros. The studio did not want Mortal Kombat to compete with another action movie they have in the works. Both movies were planned to be released around March now MK has been bumped up.

January is a notoriously quiet time for movies. Launching a film like MK at around that time is not a bad idea. Perhaps the lull in major movies at the time will draw people to go see the Mortal Kombat movie. But this is just theoretical.

As far as anyone knows, everything is going to plan. There have been no reported hiccups or blunders behind the scenes of the movie. Many of the casting choices have been shared by the studio and fans seem interested.

This movie has very little expectations in the eyes of most people. The original movies had both the acting skills and budget of a pornographic film. All anyone is asking for a decent action movie. Nothing too demanding. Hopefully, we get a glimpse of what they have in store in the next few months.
