Three More Roles Are Filled in the Halo TV Series

Where Are My Keyes?!

The cast for Showtime’s Halo TV series has grown once again. Two fairly prominent characters from the game series as well as an original character have been cast. The roles of UNSC Captain Jacob Keyes, Commander Miranda Keyes, and a young woman named Makee have been filled by Danny Sapani, Olive Gray, and Charlie Murphy, respectively. No, not the late comedian and brother of Eddie Murphy. Also, surely Miranda Keyes is not yet a commander at the time the show takes place.

Halo TV Series

Danny Sapani is a British actor who has had small roles in Black Panther as a Border Tribe elder, and in Star Wars: The Last Jedi as the medical frigate captain. Olive Gray is a British actress who had recurring roles in the TV shows Year Million and Home From Home. While Jacob and Miranda Keyes were Caucasian in the Halo games, they will be portrayed by actors of African descent, and there will definitely be no fans that take issue with that. Charlie Murphy, who has had roles in the TV show Peaky Blinders and in The Foreigner, will be playing Makee. She is an original character with an interesting premise.

According to Variety, Makee is a young woman who was orphaned as a child and raised by the Covenant. She “shares their contempt for humanity.” There does not appear to be any humans allied with the Covenant in extended Halo lore, so it will be interesting to see how this plotline plays out.
