Just Because It Didn’t Launch with It, Doesn’t Mean It Won’t Come Later
Call of Duty: Mobile launched earlier last week and is currently on its honeymoon with players. It has been downloaded millions of times and, not two weeks after its launch, more content is being teased. Yesterday, a community update announced a few things that are on their way and some things that are being worked on. One of these tentative features will be Call of Duty: Mobile controller support. It is a feature that has been asked for, but not yet implemented.
This feature was addressed in a small part of the blog on Reddit and this is what Activision had to say about it: “We hear you loud and clear that you want to know about controller support. We are currently testing controller support and looking at the possibility of offering this feature sometime in the future, but we’d have to make sure it is properly implemented and balanced. Just hang tight.” Yeah, it would be nice to just slap on controller support, but there would probably be a pretty big difference between controller players and phone players, you know?
The nature of Call of Duty: Mobile is that it is played on a mobile device. The controls are dramatically different than how it is traditionally played on console or PC, so when they say that they “make sure it is properly implemented and balanced”, Activision probably means that they want players without controllers to still have a fighting chance. In other COD: Mobile news, Free-For-All is currently available for a limited time.
How do you find the controller-less controls feel? Let us know in the comments below.
