Epic Games Announces That Better Matchmaking and Bots Are Coming to Fortnite

Prepare for Better Fortnite Matchmaking in the Future

Fortnite has been out for just over two full years and it’s still just as popular as ever. Despite this, Epic Games is looking to improve their hit battle royale title in a few different ways. In the latest update from the developer we found out that better matchmaking has now made its way into the game and, get this, bots are on the horizon.

According to Epic Games its become more and more apparent that players come from a variety of skill levels. Though some fans might have been playing since its original release, there are those that are just jumping into the action. As it turns out the two different groups of people will no longer be pitted against each other as often moving forward. In the latest update Fornite has received a new and improved matchmaking system. This new matchmaking is set to provide a better learning curve for players. Here’s what Epic Games had to say about the update, “In the v10.40 update, we’re introducing improved matchmaking logic to Battle Royale core modes to create fairer matches. What does this mean? You will be more likely to match with players of similar skill, and as you get better, so should your opponents. We will slowly roll this out to all regions across Battle Royale core modes as we test and monitor how it performs. We’re excited to get this out for everyone to play with and will continue to update the system. We’ll update you when it’s fully live across all regions to get your feedback as you try it out.”

Additionally fans can expect to see Bots in the near future for Fortnite. They’re set to drop into the game as part of the next season and will work alongside the new matchmaking system to help newbies learn without getting their butts kicked. In theory as they improve, they’ll face less Bots.“In the next Season, we are adding Bots to Fortnite. They will behave similarly to normal players and will help provide a better path for players to grow in skill. Bots will work in conjunction with the new matchmaking system, and as your skill improves, you’ll face fewer Bots. Bots will not be present in Competitive playlists. This is another system that we will continue to update and iterate.”

It will be interesting to see exactly how this skill improvement is going to be measured. What do you think about this new matchmaking system? And how do you feel about the addition of Bots into Fornite all this time after its release? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below and don’t forget to keep it locked for updates!
