Remedy’s Creative Director Says Alan Wake 2 “Needs to Be Done Right”
Earlier this month it was revealed that Remedy Entertainment has obtained the publishing rights for their Alan Wake game. Now, building off of this big announcement Sam Lake, the studio’s Creative Director talked about making a sequel in a brand new interview with IGN.
Alan Wake was released back in 2010 and although it may not have had the best sales, it was well liked by players and critics alike. As it turns out Sam Lake, the writer behind the game and Remedy’s Creative Director, would love to make Alan Wake 2. In this month’s episode of IGN Unfiltered, he talks about how he still wants to make the sequel, but that it would need to be done right. Here’s what he had to say, “I want to make it. It’s a curious thing. At this point, so much time has passed. I feel that the bar is higher in some ways. It needs to be done right if it’s ever done. Everything needs to click into place, which is really hard to make it happen. So many things, for these big games to be greenlit, need to be aligned. But I’m hoping that someday….”
Of course whether or not this actually happens is hard to say right now, but at least not all hope is lost. At this time however, Remedy Entertainment is focused on making their upcoming game, Control, a huge hit. Because of this, if Alan Wake 2 was to come to fruition it likely wouldn’t be for a few more years until we hear or see anything about it.
