A Third of All PC Pre-Orders for Cyberpunk 2077 Have Been Purchased Through GOG

GOG Is Responsible for a Third of All PC Pre-Orders for Cyberpunk 2077 so Far

Even though Cyberpunk 2077 is almost nine whole months away, CD Projekt RED took to Twitter today to celebrate some exciting pre-order news. As of today, GOG is responsible for a one third of all Cyberpunk 2077 PC pre-orders.

CDPR announced just how grateful they were to have such dedicated fans. They said, “Every third copy of the digital version of #Cyberpunk2077 for PC so far has been pre-ordered on @GOGcom! Thank you for your support — it’s breathtaking!” You can check out the big announcement for yourself below.

Now if you’re not really sure why this is a big deal, especially for CDPR, it’s because the developer owns GOG entirely, meaning that the money for every game sold, every single penny, goes right back into their pockets. Compared to the 70% that goes back to the developers on Steam, or 88% with the Epic Games Store. And one third of all of the pre-orders means that 33% of every single PC pre-order for Cyberpunk 2077 is being purchased through GOG, instead of on Amazon, Steam, and the Epic Games Store where it’s currently available. That’s pretty impressive.

And if, for whatever reason, you haven’t heard about Cyberpunk 2077, here’s the official description straight from the game’s website. “Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.”
