The Offical Multiplayer Reveal is on August 1st
With the reveal of the Call of Duty Modern Warfare multiplayer only a few days away, Infinity Ward has been kind enough to release a teaser video for the weapon customization. Customizing your gun is a huge part of the game. It was first introduced in 2007 with the groundbreaking release of Call of Duty 4. From that point on, adding whatever attachment or gadget you like to your weapon has been an integral part of the series.
Infinity Ward has been very stingy lately about releasing information concerning their game. So it is somewhat refreshing to have a little bit of content to consume while waiting for the big reveal. There was a short video displaying a new 2v2 multiplayer game mode that was released a few days ago as well. The gameplay looks much slower and tactful than in previous years. Which is great news for the fans of the older titles of the franchise.
The developers have stated in blog posts that weapon customization is going to work a little differently than other Call of Duty games. There is not going to be a set amount of attachments anymore. Instead, there are five areas of the gun that can be tweaked to your liking. However. most weapons are going to have more than five areas. So you’ll have to choose wisely of what you want.

The example they give in the trailer shows that assault rifles usually have nine areas to customize. But you’ll only be able to add to five of those nine areas. This system allows players to really tune their guns to their liking. Instead of being stuck with the two attachments only rule.
Call of Duty Modern Warfare is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC on October 25, 2019.
