Joe Taslim Is Going to be Playing the Infamous Sub-Zero
The new Mortal Kombat movie which is still in the early stages of development has cast Joe Taslim to play Sub-Zero. Taslim is best known for his work and appearances in Fast and Furious 6 and The Raid. Both of those movies were known for their over the top action so being in a Mortal Kombat movie shouldn’t be too different. Aside from the obscene amounts of gore.
It has not been established who else will be accompanying Taslim on the big screen. Taslim is the only actor that they have officially cast so far. As previously stated, the movie is in its infancy right now so we might have to wait a while before any more info comes out. However, if Sub-Zero is making an appearance then it should be expected that Scorpion will be there with him.
There is little information about the movie as a whole. It is unclear how close the studio intends to base the movie of the source material. It goes without saying that if the Mortal Kombat movie does not contain the absurd violence and blood that the game showcases then many fans will be disappointed.
The last Mortal Kombat movie was released way back in 1997. Titled Mortal Kombat Annihilation, the film is largely regarded as a massive flop and just another horrendous video game movie. That being said, the studio behind the newest movie has said that this installment in the franchise will have nothing to do with Mortal Kombat films of the 90s. Filming is scheduled to start later this year. So more news is coming.
