NBA Live 20 Gets Delayed; EA Says It’s Trying a ‘Different Approach’ With the Game

NBA Live 20 Is Launching in Late 2019

NBA Live 20 has been delayed to late 2019, according to a recent EA earnings presentation. The game was originally slated for release in the second quarter of EA’s 2020 fiscal year (July 1st to Sept. 30th) but has now been delayed to the third quarter of that fiscal year (Oct. 1st to Dec. 31st).

“We’re planning a different approach to NBA Live this year, and will have more to share in the quarter ahead,” an EA representative told Polygon.

Whatever this “different approach” turns out to be, it’s possible that it could make NBA Live 20 a true rival to the upcoming NBA 2K20. The NBA Live series has been an also-ran to the NBA 2K series for years now but last year’s entry, NBA Live 19, got pretty decent reviews. Maybe this next entry will keep up that positive momentum.
