Toy Box and Retro and Neon, Oh My!
The release of Borderlands 3 is about a month and a half away, and now we have news about what will be coming out for players who decide to spend a little bit more on the game. Of course, I’m talking about the Borderlands 3 Deluxe Edition bonuses. By now, many fans will have pre-ordered the game, but understandably, others will have held off on that. Pre-ordering the standard edition will give players some gold weapon skins, but the Deluxe Edition gives a little more. Gearbox announced these bonuses yesterday, complete with images showing them off.
The images above show off the Neon and Retro skin packs for the Vault Hunters, Weapons, and ECHOs. The Neon skins give off a glow in the dark/skeleton look. Save that one for October. The Retro skins have some sweet black leather outfits with red highlights and tan bottoms. I’m not sure what makes them retro, but they look good.
The Weapon Skin and Toy Box packs do not have any Vault Hunter skins, but they both come with Weapon Trinkets. It is unclear if trinkets have any bonus features or buffs, or not. The Weapon Skin pack gives guns a stainless steel look, while the Toy Box weapons look like they are made of plastic. They are no joke though, Gearbox confirms that they are still “extremely lethal.”
If you’ll notice, all these packs come with the Deluxe Edition AND the Super Deluxe Edition, which we still have yet to hear details about. No doubt it will include more. Borderlands 3 comes out on September 13th on PC from the Epic Games Store, Xbox One, and PS4.
