Square Enix Has Released New Final Fantasy VII Remake Screenshots

Monsters and Shinra and Mechs, Oh My!

March 3rd, 2020 cannot come soon enough. After waiting more than twenty years for the remake and with the release date still almost a year away, fans will want every inside look they can get. Thankfully, Square Enix is happy to oblige. Yesterday, the official Final Fantasy VII Remake Twitter account released a bunch of new images for the public. These Final Fantasy VII Remake screenshots include our heroes battling as well as just showing off how pretty it is. They feature Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, and Barret.

Screenshots from the game appear to be very easy to position and capture. This is due to the nature of the combat system where the player can freeze the action and carefully plan their attacks. Many of the screenshots make use of this Tactical Mode. The others appear to be from cutscenes, including the remake of the iconic image of Cloud looking up at one of Shinra’s reactors. Other settings show the inside of Shinra HQ and the streets of Midgar. We will not see anything beyond Midgar however, because the first episode will be set entirely within the city.

Along with the screenshots come two character profile images of Cloud and Aerith. We may see similar images of Tifa and Barret, and possibly Red XIII. This is speculative only because he joins the party before escaping Midgar. We have not seen him in any footage or images yet. And it may be a long time, years even, before we see Yuffie, Vincent, Cait Sith, or Cid. Good thing Aerith is never going to leave us, right? RIGHT? Final Fantasy VII Remake comes out on March 3rd, 2020 on PS4.
