The Beta Will Come to Xbox First
Halo Infinite, the Microsoft juggernaut will be getting a beta. This beta is scheduled to release sometime next year. Most likely a few months before its release around Christmas 2020. Details about the beta were understandably limited but 343 did say that it will arrive first on the Xbox One and then later on the PC. There will be no beta for the Project Scarlett as the newest Microsoft console is launching alongside Halo Infinite.
Betas are not very common within the Halo franchise. The last beta any Halo game had was Halo Reach. And that was almost ten years ago now. That beta was quite successful and gave Bungie tons of feedback about the new and ambitious multiplayer they were testing out. Perhaps this is why 343 feels the need to have a beta in the first place. Maybe a new style of multiplayer is around the corner. The beta will almost certainly not touch on the singleplayer side as betas are made with tweaking and de-bugging the multiplayer in mind.
Aside from the beta, 343 also gave information about other aspects of the game. Halo Infinite will have split-screen. It will also be able to support LAN play, which is something that is becoming a rare sight nowadays. Finally, for those Halo 5 players out there, you will be rewarded with a sort of token or badge to show off in Halo Infinite if you reach SR 152 in Halo 5’s multiplayer.
There is still going to be a ton of more information to come out in the months leading up to its release. Be sure to stay tuned to keep up to date.
