Something Was Bound to Go Wrong in All the Chaos
In the aftermath of the unvaulting event, Epic Games saw that a number of players experienced issues joining the game. While most players witnessed the destruction of Tilted Towers and Retail Row, and cast their vote to bring back the Drum Gun, some lost out on that experience. It’s not like the voting of which item to bring back would have had a different result; the Drum Gun was won in a total landslide. Still, some people missed out and that sucks. To try and make up for this, Epic Games is giving out a free Fortnite glider.
The Arcana glider is what players are being given for the blunder. If you queued up for the Unvaulting event, you get the glider. Simple. Even if you got in and the game went off without any problems, you get it. There is probably too much effort to put into exactly who missed out and who did not, so everyone who even tried to join receives it. The Arcana glider is not an exclusive item to the event though. It was added to the store about a week ago for 1,200 V-Bucks. If you already had the glider and you queued up for the event, you get reimbursed; a free 1,200 V-Bucks for you.
For those players who were unable to participate, we are working to release replay files of the event so that you can witness the Unvaulting from within the client.

We apologize that some players were unable to view the Unvaulting event. Anyone who jumped into the Unvaulting playlist will be granted the Arcana Glider in the coming days. Players who purchased the Arcana Glider previously will be refunded their V-Bucks.

As you can see, Epic Games was pretty prompt in their response. Still, the most popular online game in the world right now should have been prepared for this right? It’s not like this is a brand new game whose servers just couldn’t handle the new traffic, right?
What say you? Is this an adequate consolation? Let us know in the comments below.
