A Trailer AND Pre-Orders? Activision, Youโre Too Kind
Activision is dumping all their Call of Duty content on us today. Earlier, the Modern Warfare reveal trailer was posted along with a release date, and now the game is available for pre-order. As with almost every AAA title nowadays, there are going to be multiple Call of Duty: Modern Warfare pre-order editions. There is the Standard Edition (physical and digital), Operator and Operator Enhanced Editions (digital only), and Precision Edition (physical only). Though this is a reboot of the series, the extra content the pre-orders come with are full of callbacks to the original Modern Warfare.
The Standard Edition is pretty self-explanatory. The Operator and Operator Enhanced Editions come with player and weapon skins for the operators Grinch, Otter, and Wyatt. The content packs are named โAll Ghillied Upโ for Grinch, โCrew Expendableโ for Otter, and โWar Pigโ for Wyatt. These names are all throwbacks to mission names from Call of Duty 4. All the digital releases come with a limited edition in-game tactical knife, as well as a Prestige Token redeemable in Black Ops 4. The Operator Enhanced Edition also comes with 3,000 Call of Duty Points. Itโs unclear what the points are right now, perhaps they are an in-game currency.
The physical Precision Edition comes with all the content from the Operator Edition (with the exception of the Prestige Token) as well as a steelbook and a controller skin from KontrolFreek. Game Stop costumers also get a Call of Duty Endowment (CODE) โanimated calling cardโ. According to Activision, CODE โis a non-profit public benefit corporation which helps soldiers transition to civilian careers after their military service.โ Pre-orders are available right now, and Modern Warfare will be out on October 25th.
