Microsoft Teases a Brand New AR Minecraft Game
There’s no denying that Minecraft is insanely popular worldwide and with gamers of all ages. What with a movie coming out in a few years and more and more updates coming out on a regular basis, the game shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon. As such it seems Microsoft is trying to make the game even bigger than ever before with a recent tease for a brand new Augmented Reality Minecraft game.
Yes, you read that right. During todays Build 2019 keynote Microsoft dropped a teaser for a brand new augmented reality Minecraft game for your phone. In the video, Saxs Persson, the creative director of Minecraft, leaves his phone on a bench which is then discovered by a passerby. Once the screen pans you can see the popular title running in AR. Of course this suggests a brand new title that could be similar to that of Niantic’s Pokemon Go. You can check out the video below.

While it’s not clear right now what it will be, this game has enormous potential. And if the 500 million downloads for Pokemon Go are anything to go by Microsoft certainly knows what they’re doing here. Though Microsoft hasn’t yet revealed any more information about their plans regarding this potential AR game, the teaser did note that we should be finding out more in less than two weeks time, on May 17th. This date of course marks the 10th anniversary of Minecraft.
