Final Fantasy VII Remake Is Now Available for Pre-Order

It’s Almost like It’s Really Happening

I remember about a dozen years ago, a little after seeing Advent Children for the first time, hearing rumblings of a Final Fantasy VII remake. There was even a technical demo- get this -for the PS3, which had not even come out yet. We knew not then how long we would have to wait, but it is on the horizon. It’s more real than ever. During last night’s State of Play, we finally got a good look at the remake. Wasting no time, Amazon has thrown a pre-order up on their site for the game.

Final Fantasy VII Remake

Amazon played the ol’ “December 31st” trick to give as much time as possible for the release date. It says it will be release in 2019, which is exciting, but that is liable to change. It basically means there is no release date yet. But you can totally buy it. So far, there is only a standard edition of a PlayStation 4 version available for purchase, priced at $59.99. What can be told about this is that it is a placeholder right now. It is likely to be more expensive than that. Also, there will likely be different editions with different pre-order bonuses, but this is all speculation at this point.

Even though fans are dying for more information, we will just have to wait for another month or so. Even though Sony will not be making a big appearance at E3 this year, Square Enix will. Hopefully, we will get a release date and other details left out of the pre-order page.
