Exciting Trailer for Remake of Final Fantasy VII Drops During State of Play

The wait is over! Finally an update on the Final Fantasy VII remake!

Fans of the prolific Final Fantasy series were teased during 2015’s E3 with the announcement of an upcoming remake of Final Fantasy VII. Unfortunately, following that there have been very little public updates on the project – until the end of Sony’s most recent State of Play.

Sony held off until the closing minutes of the presentation to release the latest trailer for the remake of Final Fantasy VII. The trailer provides only a minute of footage, adding fuel to the fire of excitement around the game. Those who played the original installment may recognize both the protagonist Cloud and the renowned bombing mission scene. The trailer also provides a quick glance at the improved combat system.

The length of the video certainly only adds to the anticipation without answering many burning questions. Thankfully the director of the remake, Tetsuya Nomura, shared a positive message via the Final Fantasy Twitter account. He promises that “Most of the plans are already in place in the run up to launch” and to “please bear with [them] until [they] can release more information next month.”  This suggests that those bubbling with anxiousness need only survive until E3 2019.
