Overwatch’s Springtime Event Comes Storming In
Blizzard announced today that a new limited time event is coming to Overwatch called “Storm Rising” that will delve a little deeper into the game’s lore.

The event was announced via the above video on Twitter, in which Sojourn assigns a young Soldier 76 to taking out Doomfist’s accountant alongside Tracer, Mercy, Winston and Genji. If it’s at all related to a post from this past Sunday, the event could be taking place in a new map set in Havana, Cuba. A Category 3 storm may be crashing the party as well.
The “Storm Rising” event is the latest chapter in the the game’s “Archives” series, which are seasonal events that fill in some of the game’s vague lore. Past Archive events include Retribution and Uprising, where players took on waves of AI controlled Omnic robots. It’s not entirely clear what we can expect from Storm Rising, but players can almost definitely count on more event-exclusive loot boxes.
Overwatch is currently available for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. In other recent Overwatch news, Blizzard has confirmed that the game’s social features implemented to decrease toxicity have been a success, and the developer has been considering “hero bans or seasonal rotations” for competitive play.
