Nintendo Is Rumored To Be Making Two New Nintendo Switch Models
Nintendo has “no plans” to reveal a new Nintendo Switch during E3 2019, the company’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, said to several reporters in Osaka, Japan recently.
“As a general rule, we’re always working on new hardware and we will announce it when we are able to sell it,” Furukawa reportedly said. “But we have no plans to announce that at this year’s E3 in June.”
The Wall Street Journal first reported last October that Nintendo was developing a new Nintendo Switch model. The Journal also reported in March that the company was working on two new Switch models, not just one, and that these models would “likely” be revealed at E3 2019. Other outlets such as Bloomberg and Nikkei have reported additional details.
Bloomberg reported this Tuesday that “a new, cheaper version of the Switch” would “likely” launch by the end of June.
However, with this statement from Furukawa, it appears that this new Switch hardware (whatever it actually is) won’t be making an appearance at June’s upcoming E3 convention.
