Just a Day Before Endgame, Too
There was an idea, to bring together a group of remarkable players, to see if they could become something more, so when we needed them, they could play the battle royales that we never could. Remember that part? Avengers. It’s Avengers, guys. Well, last year Fortnite had its Avengers: Infinity War crossover where players could play as Thanos. This year, as Avengers: Endgame rolls closer, Fortnite fans are hit with a teaser implying another Avengers crossover. It was a tweet with a character holding Captain America’s shield, calling it Fortnite x Avengers.
About a week and a half ago, dataminers dug up some kill feed messages from Fortnite’s 4.1 update code. The message “yielded to the POWER of Thanos” caught everyone’s eye. That signaled to everyone that Thanos would return to Fortnite, but Fortnite’s new tweet suggests a little bit more. The image is of a female Fortnite character brandishing Cap’s iconic shield. The caption says “Whatever it takes. 4.25.19. #FortniteXAvengers” That’s the eve of Avengers: Endgame, presumably the day the Fortnite x Avengers event starts. Unfortunately, a second glance at the kill feed messages don’t yield any more clues about this event.

Perhaps we may see other images featuring Avengers’ gear on Fortnite characters. They do not exactly use weapons normally used in Fortnite, so it would be cool to see someone with repulsors, or a bow and arrow, or giant green fists.
