Things Get Very Mythic
Several months into post-launch, the folks over at Ubisoft have stayed true to their word of a dedicated live service for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. After the entry’s launch back in October, we’ve seen several patches with The Legacy of the First Blade episodes. Ubisoft is entering its next phase with The Fate of Atlantis.
In the Fate of Atlantis, players deal directly with the gods of the Greek pantheon. The new trailer teases an all-new set of challenges, gear, and new interactions with certain deities. Moreover, there will be new enemies inspired by the culture’s old myths, which I won’t spoil if you haven’t seen the teaser (available below).
Supernatural encounters are nothing new to the Assassin’s Creed franchise, but it looks like the next few episodes will drop nothing less than a deep dive, head first, into otherworldly locations. One such location seems to be the eponymous Atlantis, which should provide its fair share of exploration opportunities. If you’re a fan of Greek Mythology, there’s never been a better time to enter the franchise.
The first episode of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey: The Fate of Atlantis will arrive on April 23, 2019. Expect more news regarding episodic content from Ubisoft.
“In the second story arc, The Fate of Atlantis, players will discover godly creatures and uncover the secrets of the legendary sunken city. In a surprising saga with many twists and turns, players will get even closer to Greek mythology and the first civilization. The Fate of Atlantis’ three episodes will begin releasing in Spring 2019, following the same pattern as Legacy of the First Blade.”
