Bungie Outlines Incoming Season of the Drifter Content for Destiny 2
The second and upcoming season for Destiny 2: Forsaken is right around the corner and now we’ve learned a whole bunch more about what to expect. In a new ViDoc from Bungie, they detail what they’ve dubbed the Season of the Drifter and good news, there’s lot of new goodies to get excited about.
In just a few days, on March 5th, the Season of the Drifter content will launch for Destiny 2: Forsaken, where it will remain until May 6th. “For the next season of Destiny, the Drifter takes center stage with new rewards for every Guardian to add to their collections. For owners of the Annual Pass, he has new tricks up his sleeve for players of every fighting style and combat specialty.” So what’s coming to the game with this new season? Well, for those who haven’t quite reached a 640 power level, don’t fret as Bungie is adding Power Surge Bounties which will allow players who have fallen behind to catch up with ease. Additionally, the Season of the Drifter will be rotating between the Reckoning and Gambit Prime which is an advanced version of the PvEvP Gambit game mode previously introduced. And what’s set to make Gambit Prime so interesting is that there are new armor sets available for each role: Reaper, Collector, Sentry, and Invader, all of which come with The Drifter’s snake decal and a color depending on which one you choose.
Of course it wouldn’t feel completely fresh if there also something more being added, other than a new game mode, and Season 2 will introduce two new maps: New Arcadia on Mars and Deep Six on Titan. Both maps will join the Gambit Prime mode rotation. And after you complete your very first Gambit Prime match, you’ll be able to get in on the Reckoning action, a new PvE mode that adds more risk, with the promise of better loot for Gambit Prime. The Reckoning will also introduce a new map, played within the Drifter’s ball.
Oh, and what does brand new loot mean exactly? There will be new weapons available, including a new sniper, grenade launcher, and hand cannon, and the previously teased Thorn. And be prepared for new Joker Wild quests, Xur bounties, and more Triumphs & Collections, as all are incoming in a mere number of days. You can check out the ViDoc video outlining everything below.
