The Final Tease Before Tomorrow’s Borderlands Bonanza
Gearbox has been pulling the whistle on the PAX East hype train for the past week, the most noteworthy tease being today’s trailer for something Borderlands related.
The monochromatic teaser shows off a plethora of character models in all their badass glory. Fans of the series should be able to spot Brick, Mordecai, Sir Hammerlock, Ellie, Lillith, Mad Moxxi (and her bar!), Janey Springs, and of course, Claptrap. At the end it promises “Mayhem is Coming” tomorrow at Gearbox’s PAX East panel.
Naturally, the internet is abuzz with the assumption that this is a teaser for Borderlands 3 specifically – and they’re probably right! The sequel has been in high-demand for quite a while and after a tease like this, let’s just say, it gat dang better be. We could also be seeing a re-release of the original Borderlands for modern platforms during tomorrow’s panel, and whatever the other things Gearbox has been teasing are.
Whatever gets announced tomorrow, it likely won’t be out for a little while, so in the meantime you can play The Handsome Collection on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, or Telltale’s Tales From the Borderlands, which also acts as somewhat of spinoff/pre-sequel to 3.
