It Appears Kojima and Sony May Be Working on a Death Stranding Marketing Push
In recent months Hideo Kojima has had quite a few prominent members of the industry pop in and check out his upcoming game Death Stranding, all of whom had great things to say. Despite this, there has been no word about its release date. Now however, it seems that it could be coming out sooner than originally expected as both Kojima Productions and Sony appear to be gearing up for a big marketing push for the game.
Just yesterday David Bull, who’s responsible for PlayStation’s Global Brand Marketing and leading Death Stranding, took to Twitter to express his excitement to be working with Kojima Productions for the next two weeks. It’s hard to imagine they’d be working on something other than marketing, right? And it’s not just that either, as recently Kojima met with other members of PlayStation’s marketing team, and CEO Jim Ryan, suggesting that there could be a marketing push incoming for the game. You can check out the tweets below.

Considering this may be one of the last parts of the game’s development, these posts on Twitter have fueled speculation that Death Stranding could receive a release date announcement sometime soon. And what’s even more, that it could be released as soon as later this year! At this current moment Sony’s fall release window is empty, meaning that unless The Last of Us Part II or Ghost of Tsushima are slated to drop later this year, it could be reserved for Death Stranding.
Of course at this point nothing has been confirmed by either Sony or Hideo Kojima so until they’ve announced a release date/window, everyone will just have to keep their fingers crossed and treat this as nothing more than the speculation it is. What do you think these sweet marketing meetings could mean? Do you believe Death Stranding could launch later this year?
