Music Makes the People Come Together
Overwatch’s new map set in Paris has been available to try out in some public test servers for the past few days. It features real-life locations for players to kill each other in. The Seine River, Maison Marat, Cabaret Luna, and the Pâtisserie Galand are included. Another strikingly real part of the map is a piano. Instead of just being a boring set piece, Blizzard has made it a nearly-fully functional musical instrument. This has prompted the more musically inclined players to recreate some songs in the new Overwatch Paris map.
Other than the keys being bulletproof, the piano featured in this new map can be played just like one in real-life. Players have made dozens of videos of themselves playing covers of real songs on it. Such meme songs like All Star, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Take On Me have been made quite well by various players. Single-fire weapons like Soldier 76’s rifle, Widowmaker’s rifle, and Mercy’s blaster are popular choices for playing. Here are some examples of what Overwatch players have come up with.

And of course we have Smash Mouth’s All Star by Jenu:
Here we have Symmetra playing Africa from corrosionOW:
Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody by sano:
What we have on our hands is a wonderful attention to detail feature in a map. It’s not a match-centric set-piece like a choke point or defensible area, just a nice bonus for players looking for something new.
