Get Pretty, Punch Through Sternums All The Same
Trevor Traub, NetherRealm’s core technology producer, recently talked about Mortal Kombat 11. In particular, we learned a bit more about the gear system that will be included with the game. Thankfully, it seems like said system will be strictly cosmetic. None of that game-breaking nonsense you see sometimes.
That’s not to say that modifications won’t be possible. The augment system will let players mess with move sets and stats, altering fighters to better suit your play style. Which, if I’m being blunt, still sounds a bit game-breaking. Although apparently this augment stuff will be limited during online play. You can change the way someone looks, but not their stats. Whew!
So what kind of changes can be made? According to Traub, fighters like Skarlet can “get even more life from blood, totally different things like that. You can make different versions of your character.” At least it sounds like you can do crazy stat stuff in offline play, which is fine. That’s a fabulous place to mess about. There’s no sense in blowing up the multiplayer space like that, though. You can read more about Traub’s revelations regarding Mortal Kombat 11 in the interview here.
