Actor Reprises Role in Lethal Martial Arts Competition
Another week, another bloodytastic character. After their tease, last week, NetherRealm is back to debut Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat 11. As a staple character of the franchise, you’d think he was well past his prime, but the mad geniuses created a fresh take for the actor-martial artist.
Cage’s amazing kick is back for the sequel; you know, the one with the green glint across his body. Somehow, he’s about as agile as he’s ever been, which goes to show that age is just a number. Also, it’s Johnny Cage, Tom Cruise of the franchise, who doesn’t need a stunt double. That said, one of his moves involves an actual stunt double. See it all in the reveal trailer below, courtesy of IGN.
If that’s not one of the best fatalities, ever, I don’t know what is. With Mortal Kombat 11, the devs seem to be doubling down on that actor wit, also on the kicks. His kick may have more variations than Sonya, who was the kick master of Mortal Kombat 9. At any rate, Cage’s debut may have won over more fans than his movie roles. Then again, it might be safe to say that the game has much better special effects than Hollywood.
