Rumor: Court of Owls Batman Game Art May Have Leaked

Quality, Though, Is Not Confirmation

The next Batman game may be one more leak away from confirmation, especially if the new set of images are real. Around the time of The Game Awards, WB Montreal delivered a cryptic tease of their next project. Many fans believe it was related to the Court of Owls, and they may be correct.

Batman: Return to Arkham

One artist published some high-quality concept art over on his artstation profile. The images depict the caped crusader throwing down with some Talons, assassins from the Court of Owls. Obviously, fanart and professional-quality illustrations litter the internet, so what makes this so special? The coincidence here is that the artist, one Eddie Mendoza, has Warner Bros. listed as one of his freelance clients. His artwork (available below) has since disappeared from the site, but, naturally, Reddit acquired the images for posterity.

We remind readers to take the news with a grain of salt. It could be a simple coincidence that Mendoza’s art links to current rumors around WB Montreal’s next game. That said, it is a bit strange that he took the artwork down so suddenly. As far as we can surmise, both WB Montreal and Rocksteady are working on DC-related projects, which only fuels the fires of speculation. Our last Batman game with Arkham Knight back in 2015, yet we’ve heard next to nothing from either studio. What are your thoughts?
