‘Katana Zero’ Sidescroller Actually Lets You Slice Fools in Half

Deflect Bullets and Slow Down Time

Developer Akiisoft and publisher Devolver Digital have announced their next incredible project. It’s an action side-scroller in which the protagonist wields a katana that actually slices through opponents. Enough said.

With a sword that actually cuts, Katana Zero is a new action game that ninja enthusiasts will want to keep on their radar. With action at break-neck speed, and the ability to slow time, players will inevitably optimize their reflexes in a game where one shot equals death. Fortunately, you can deflect bullets like nobody’s business, which will make guns seem primitive next to your mad skills. But there’s no need to take my word for it.

Check out all the mad action of Katana Zero in this new trailer.

Features

Exceptional Combat: Overcome your opposition however the situation requires. Deflect gunfire back at foes, dodge oncoming attacks, and manipulate enemies and environments with traps and explosives. Leave no survivors.

Hand-Crafted Sequences: Each level is uniquely designed for countless methods of completion. Defeat foes creatively, using spontaneous approaches to eliminate your enemy as you see fit.

Unconventional Storytelling: An enigmatic story told through cinematic sequences woven into the gameplay, twisting and folding to an unexpected conclusion.

Now that you’ve seen what the sidescroller looks like, you’re probably eager to play. Well, the earliest opportunity comes with PAX South this weekend. Unfortunately, the jerks over at Devolver Digitial didn’t give us a release window, so expect updates later down the line. Right now, you can head over to the game’s Steam page and add it to your wish list. Afterward, you can sit tight and play any shamble of a game that might hold a fraction of the fun factor that awaits in Katana Zero.

Happy gaming.
