Hey Ice King, Why’d You Steal Our Fortnite?
Epic has taken to Twitter to tease the upcoming seventh season of Fortnite with an image indicating the arrival of what looks like some sort of ice-related royalty, and a hint at some potential new features.
The image is accompanied by the caption “A bitter ice spreads…3 days to Season 7” on the original Twitter post, reinforcing fan’s findings (including being able to see their breath on the starting island which is closest to an incoming iceberg that seems to be encasing an enormous castle) that a winter wonderland is on the way to Battle Royale island.
In the shadow of the hooded figure in the teaser image you can see the Aurora Borealis, and on the figure’s right side you can see a little skier, hinting at the inclusion of the sport as a means of traversal in the upcoming season.
It’s also worth pointing out that there’s an imminent Fortnite World Premiere for The Game Awards this Thursday, which is the same day that Season 7 drops, and that Epic’s senior PR rep Nick Chester has mentioned that it’s unrelated to the Season 7 launch. It’s a good week to be a Fortnite fan!
I can’t stress enough how much we have going on this week. Geoff isn’t talking about Season 7 launch here. Tune in! https://t.co/K2gwZoizqa
